Preface 

is the 2021 special exhibition of the Seoul Museum of Korean Folk Music. We showcase the stories of Korean folk singers representing the regions of Korea, and highlight the regionality and artistry of folk song.

The exhibition tells the singer's life stories, and speaks of the folk songs which were integral to their extence. Folk songs were the song of the common folk, but have today become a rarity in the fast pace of social change. Those song which have survived are a precious cultural heritage cherished and preserved by the singers of this land.
